Adkins Electric, Inc. (AEI) was established in 1977 by Virgil M. Adkins to serve the electrical contracting needs of single family and small commercial customers throughout the greater Jacksonville, Florida area. AEI’s unique ability to deliver comprehensive, cost-effective electrical services garnered the reputation by the mid 1980’s, to be a preferred provider in the Southeast. Hard work and dedication, long-standing client relationships, and more than 40 years of experience in the industry, has allowed AEI to branch out and develop teams of professionals that support every aspect of each client’s electrical needs. AEI owns a fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles having the ability to meet any size project need with precision performance.
Over the years, the company has flourished to become a very successful company even beyond Mr. Adkins’ dreams. In recent years, due to significant growth in the southeast, Mr. Adkins turned to Norlee Group (NLG) for assistance so AEI could have all necessary resources for continued expansion. In 2021, AEI was acquired and became part of the Norlee Group family of companies. Since becoming “A Norlee Company”, AEI has had the ability to leverage large scale business planning and expansion strategies, which have paved the way for an unprecedented 47% growth year over year garnering the No. 8 ranking for annual revenue and No. 19 in percentage growth on the 2024 Jacksonville Business Journal’s Fast 50 List of fastest growing companies on the First Coast.

Lee has over 25 years of experience in the electrical construction industry with a deep understanding and concentration in Commercial and Multi-Family projects. He began his career as a helper prior to attending NJATC/IBEW Apprenticeship Program. Once he completed his education, he worked in the field for over 10 years gaining valuable knowledge from key roles in estimating and project management. Lee is proof that teamwork, determination, and grit pays off as he has worked his way up the ranks to Divisional Vice President at Adkins Electric. Lee’s dedication and hard work has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth. His vast knowledge of the industry, attention to detail every step of the way, deep rooted client and staff relations, and reach for the stars attitude has all contributed to the success of Adkins during his leadership tenure. Adkins is a 2024 recipient of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Fast 50 Award for fastest growing companies.
Igor is one of our longest standing employees at AEI, 20 years strong, with substantial knowledge within the electrical construction industry totally over 30 years. He is a wealth of knowledge to the AEI team specializing in high density residential, commercial, and industrial spaces as well as high explosive Class 1 division medical equipment facilities.
Roy has been in the electrical industry for over 39 years and has devoted over 13 years of service to AEI. He brings a wide range of experience covering all phases and types of electrical services. Roy is a valuable asset to our team and handles multi-million-dollar projects within the Multi-Family and Commercial sectors.
Tom specializes in underground distribution of design and installation in the development of AEI projects for Multi-Family and Commercial jobs. He manages 8 crews and an average of 15 projects at one time. Tom plays a key role in the success of our organization. He has been in the electrical construction industry for over 27 with a vast knowledge in day-to-day operations in the field.
Carlus is a respected veteran of the US Air Force and FL National Guard where he was a quality assurance inspector. As Service Division Manager at AEI, Carlus ensures all projects and service team staff meet OSHA compliance and safety regulations while providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Utilizing his knowledge and strategies at AEI, he has implemented procedures and technologies that have improved efficiency and streamlined the service department operations.
Bhrett brings over 27 years of experience in electrical industry to Adkins with 23 years concentration with the Commercial and Multi-Family sectors. His vast knowledge in large-scale and multi-million-dollar projects make him a trusted asset to the team.
